Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Experience: Experience an asset. Additional Skills: Leading/instructing groups. Assist with special events. Prepare reports. Maintain and repair sports equipment. Leading/instructing individuals. Specific Skills: Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs. Instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Establish registry of special needs support workers. Understand principles of group dynamics. Provide lifestyle awareness information. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities. Schedule activities, keep logs, maintain records and prepare reports. Assemble supplies, sports and game equipment. Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. Security and Safety: Criminal record check. Work Site Environment: Outdoors. In/on water. Wet/damp. Noisy. Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle. Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver’s licence.
